Stillhouse Lake by Rachel Caine ~ Fiction Book Review

This book was the change in a tide of what seemed like an insufferably long string of duds. It left me wondering who this author was, and where she’d been all my life. Not that it’s the most spectacular thing ever written, but I enjoyed it enough that I was surprised that the author wasn’t more renowned.  It turns out she might be – in YA and vampire reader circles.

Long story short, I got this as a free Kindle read, and immediately looked for the other books the author had written when I finished. The great news is that a second book is planned in this ‘series’. The bad news is that I have to wait until December.

I loved the premise of this book – it was fresh and different, with a unique perspective. It had just enough mystery and suspense without being campy. I found the lead character likeable to boot! 5 stars and a big shout out to the newest author that I’ll be keeping an eye on!
