This is the second installment of the Stillhouse Lake trilogy that I had been so anxiously awaiting. The first book completely blew me away. I couldn’t say enough good things about it. Which made it especially disappointing that this one left me feeling a little, “meh.”
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good book, an entertaining story, intricate plot and all that, but compared to the first book, it doesn’t really compete. Is it fair to compare one book against another? Were my expectations ridiculously high? (Probably.)
At the end of the day, I enjoyed the book and will probably read the third in the trilogy when it’s released. 4 stars.
