This one is what I would call a very slow burner. It’s long, and for a while it’s dry, and then it slowly picks up the pace until all of a sudden, wham! Scary good times! At times I didn’t know what certain things would have to do with the plot – it tends to meander in a most circuitous way – although all threads are tied together by the end. Some chapters are named, some are not, the paragraphs are long and dense, and I didn’t like any of the characters. But – I must say that when I finally got to the good parts, they were enjoyable. This was a fast paced book that I quickly devoured. It felt a little amateurish at times, but the premise – a killer loose at an all night rave called Survive The Night where you aren’t allowed to leave – had me hooked. I did enjoy this story, but I have to say that it took a turn that I wish it hadn’t, turning into something I wasn’t expecting, and the ending left me underwhelmed. However, if you’re looking for a fast paced bit of horror, this is it!
