Birds hang out right next to them all the time, but I’m never at the right to angle to get a pic that shows it and I don’t want to move around too much because, um, gators, but I’ve seen them snap at the birds too. Explains the term birdbrain.
I think that’s just a leaf. I was born here and have spent my life hiking – I’m always cautious around alligators, but I e never had one get aggressive towards me, not even when I’ve turned a corner and been almost on top of them! 😬 They either jump in the water if they’re close enough, or they roll an eye at you.
Is the subtitle of this post “Of Egrets and Alligators”?

I was hiking down in the Everglades when I took these, so it might as well be! 😂

what is brown color thing next to the gator? lol. It makes me feel want to move there for a month, but I don’t dare to live that close to alligators
